Curating the photoshoot for our Taree project was approached differently to other similar projects that had come before it. This time, instead of hitting the streets to recruit the “talent” (aka models) for our photoshoot, we invited our residents from neighbouring Clifton Old Bar to take part. Afterall, who better to portray the lifestyle in the region, than those who are already enjoying it most!
With a brief to highlight the best lifestyle within a 20-30 minute drive of Taree, our list of photo ops quickly outgrew our schedule.
We started with a sunrise shoot at Wallabi Point where we captured the magical colours of sunrise at the beach, and the chemistry between one of our beautiful Clifton Old Bar couples, Mike and Linda. There were so many viewing points down low, and from up above with our drone. Always one to roll her sleeves up, our Clifton Old Bar Community Manager Cathy stepped into shot next with her mountain bike while her and Gaye rode through the beautiful Saltwater walking track you can see pictured below. After moving up to the region herself in recent years, Cathy was excited to show off some of her favourite discoveries on the coast, and took out her surf ski along the estuary, stunning us all with the magnificence of this spot!
The rest of the first day was packed with fun. We photographed Mary, David, Liz, and Peter at Taree Golf Club and enjoyed a picturesque picnic by the Manning River. We even met a charming couple fishing who happily joined our photoshoot, eager to showcase life in the area.
Day two began early at Clifton Old Bar, capturing everyday life on a typical weekday morning at Clifton. We had plenty of residents out enjoying bowls, croquet, and making use of the pool table, and facilities within the Clubhouse, which really does serve as the heart of the village. Thanks to all our guest appearances from Clifton, and to David, Mary, and Ross and Liz (who are among our very first settlers) who scrubbed up for the early morning and showed off Clifton life for us!
After Clifton Old Bar, we headed to the Taree farmers market where locals enjoy picking up some fresh produce, and the team enjoyed a well-earned coffee and pastry break!
Next, we visited Wingham with Liz, Peter, Mike, and Linda, falling in love with the vibrant cafes and the lush boardwalk with it’s oversized trees, leading down to the river. We captured the rolling hills and rural life along the way.
To cap off a huge couple of days, there was nowhere more picturesque than the Cattai Wetlands to bid farewell to our final day of shooting life in and around Taree.
Next time you see a photo in our marketing or on our website, we hope you will appreciate the people and stories behind them. The Clifton and photography team were reminded of all there is to love about the Mid-North Coast of NSW and the vibrant life in Taree.
